The Economic Development Growth Engine is approving a tax abatement incentive for NBC’s Bluff City Law series to film in Memphis. The EDGE board voted unanimously yesterday after Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland and Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris previously agreed to find nearly $1.5 million dollars as part of a larger incentive package. The agreement involves taking six properties Comcast owns in Memphis, and doing a tax abatement on them with the savings passed onto NBC Universal, which is owned by Comcast. All sides involved say it’s a win for everyone.
