The Memphis Zoo has new twins! The newest residents are a pair of Jaguar cubs. The baby Jaguars were born September 4th and are growing stronger behind the scenes at Cat Country every day. The zoo will provide regular updates on their progress and will announce when the cats are ready for their public debut.
From the Memphis Zoo Facebook Page:
It’s the purrfect fall day to announce our two new baby jaguars! These purrty gals are already stealing our hearts and making big impressions. They were born September 4th, and are the first baby jaguars at Memphis Zoo 25 years!
Diego and Phili are both first-time parents and doing a pawsome job. You can still see mom and dad on exhibit, but the babies will remain indoors for a little longer.
We’ll be having a naming contest soon; more details to follow!
Please help us in congratulating not only our wonderful parents but their amazing keepers.
