Authorities in Shelby County are giving people a heads-up about a jury duty scam. The sheriff’s office says prospective jurors will never be asked for financial information or social security numbers or other personal information. Officials have received several complaints about someone claiming to be with the Shelby County Courts, Memphis Police or the Sheriff’s Office saying they have warrants for failure to appear for jury duty. Police warn to not fall for it and if you do get such a call, report it to the Memphis Police Fraud Unit.
